So let's start, and today we will talk about why staking is so important.

As you might know half of the ALIVE token rewards on posts and comments goes to the author and the other half goes to curators who have upvoted it.

This means that of all posting rewards paid out in a day half goes to authors and half goes to curators, so 50% of daily rewards on posts is paid out to accounts upvoting posts and comments.

How much curation rewards you get for your upvotes is based on your stake, your ALIVE Power, the higher that is the more your upvotes are worth and the more you earn in curation rewards.

If you are not building your stake then you are missing out on 50% of your potential earnings.

If our tribe grows in numbers then the author rewards are spread out on more posts and comments, while the price of the token is hopefully increasing with the growth, but without a stake you don't really earn any more value on your posts, tokens are worth more but you earn fewer tokens.

If you are building your stake then any increase in price also means you are earning more value, you earn about the same amount of tokens but they are worth more.

Not building your stake is like farming on rented land, if you increase the yeild of your harvest by investing in making the soil better, then you will also have to pay more for renting that land.

Building your stake is like farming on land that you own, any improvements you make means more profit for you.

This is why it is so important to build your stake, and how it increases your income over time.

I completely ignore the prices of the tokens and just keep staking. I am in this for the long haul. I have only just started to build on Hive. Just show up every day and engage and stake. It's pretty simple and consistency will help in this game.

I am doing that on a regular basis. However, price of token fell below 1 cent limit! Hope that members will concentrate on staking, rather than selling at a lower price.

It is great that you are staking Hafiz.

As to the value in USD, I have never even looked at it, I only look at the value in Hive, and it went down to 0.02 Hive and have since been steadily above that level, the 0.02 Hive price point is also what I am focused on keeping as the bottom line, if it drops it can drop to that level but I will do whatever I can to make sure it does not decrease beyond that.

Well we all have our set of preferences, in any case the promise I made to founders was to do my best to maintain a buy wall at 0.02 Hive, and that has never been close to get breached.

Excellent explanation about the staking, at the beginning I did not understand it much but with time and after reading many posts I could understand it, they did not explain it as well as you have done, and it is really very important the more you invest the more you can earn and also maintain the stability of the account to get more followers.

Thanks a lot Ed, and yes it's like Blain says the more you earn the more you earn, if you keep staking of course, and the part I said about increased value of your earnings when you have staked and the price of the token goes up with more users can not be understated, without a stake you are on a salary determined by others, with a stake the value of your assets goes up and the value of the earnings from your assets as well.

If you own say 1% of the active stake in the tribe and you keep on staking means you also earn 1% of the curation rewards, then when the price goes up and you keep earning 1% of the curation rewards, but the tokens are worth more and you earn more value.

Most people believe to earn on hive, you just create content (author/comment) and curation. Most do not understand that you must have your tokens staked and also upvote to get curation rewards. Also, the tag of the token must be on the post that is being upvoted.

Upvoting a good post with tags for which you do not have any staked tokens means you are actually not really awarding the author for their good content except with hive.

Thanks David, and yes that is correct, for the We Are Alive Tribe we have the #alive tag, plus posting in our Hive Community also gets it posted to our tribe and earn ALIVE tokens.
