Traveling at this period and also in this our Buhari regime is very very expensive. It is even more expensive than I ever thought.
Friends I don't know what came over me and I just decided that we travel home with all my family members to see our people back home. At first I thought that it was a good idea because my children will get the opportunity to see their grandma and also see others that they have not seen for a very long time. Right now as I am writing this I am also thinking other wise. Maybe it was not the best decision and maybe it might be the best decision for us. But just hold on and continue reading, at the end you can be the judge.
For complete seven years now we have not visited my mother in-law. The last time we visited was when she lost her husband. After then it has been just me alone or my husband will go visiting. But this time we decided that we are going home all of us. At first I did not consider for once that the transportation will be as high as we met it now. I actually thought is something we can handle without much stress. As the day came by the price of fuel kept moving higher and then it affected transportation in Nigeria. This is what is making me think that we shouldn't have come home now. We are currently spending way higher than we planned.
Aside that it has been a sweet journey. We met all the people that we have not seen a years now and my mother in-law is the happiest woman since last night that she saw us. This is the sweetest part of our journey. We are finally home. No place like home they say and I totally agree with that.
We are enjoying the quiet surroundings. The beautiful trees. The fresh air. The innocent looking people who all came to welcome us. The natural food that we have missed for all this year. The local food also. In the town there are things you can't get to see even if you have the money. But here we have them in abundance. Very cheap also. All thanks to God for bringing us home safely. I also get to see river Benue that I have not seen for long. The very doesn't have much water now because it has started raining for now. But in two months we will have enough water there.
