I Became A Professional Driver.

in The Ink Well12 days ago

During the COVID pandemic, my siblings and I were fully at home including our parents. That felt like the best time to learn anything we have always wanted to and we made good use of it.
My neighbor was also around then and he’s a professional driver so my sister and I went to meet him to teach us how to drive. He agreed and didn’t even ask us to pay a dime.
On the next day, we went to meet him by 4:00pm and we started the lesson. My sister was able to catch up very fast and I can even say that she learned driving within two days even though she was not perfect then yet.
As for me, I found it hard to catch up because I didn’t know how to hold the steering firmly, reverse or even make a u-turn. Just because of that, my siblings always laugh at me and sometimes feel like champions which is right because they all can drive well. Due to that anger, I started taking the car out all by myself. I just drive on the learning field and call my sister to come and drive the car back home since I can’t drive on the main road yet.

One afternoon, my mum got back from the market and parked at the shop. Out of excitement, I decided to go drop the car at home but while driving, I heard a sound and I parked. By the time I got out of the car, I saw that the car tyre got burst.
My mum saw me from afar and started shouting at me while coming towards her car.

I don’t know why you drove my car in the first place. You know you can’t drive but you forced yourself to deive the car. Can you now see what you have done to my car?, my mum kept on yelling at me and I felt like she thought I did that on purpose.

When my dad got back from work at night, my mum told him what happened to her car tyre and they both scolded me. I felt bad and embarrassed in the presence of my siblings. Since then, I vowed not to ever drive my parents car anymore.
I told my boyfriend about it and he enrolled me into a driving school. I became very good at driving and I didn’t tell anyone at home since they all mocked me and I was angry at all of them.

After the lockdown, my older siblings went to their various homes with my little brother too. I was the only one left with my parents. One morning, my parents had a little misunderstanding and they stopped talking to each other. Before then, my mum drops my dad at a juncture every morning especially when he’s not driving to work.
My dad who already scolded me for bursting my mum’s car tyre and shouted at me like he will never ask me to drive again came into my room and said I should drop him at the nearest juncture.

Wake up, please, he said to me while I pretended to still be asleep and didn’t hear what they were saying.

Good morning sir, I greeted my dad as usual and he responded just like we do at home when we see him every morning.

Please, you will drive me to the juncture now. Please, hurry up because I’m getting late for work, he said to me.

I thought he already knew that I had learned how to drive but he said he will teach me how to move. I didn’t even give him a response. I just entered the car and started it then drove him to the juncture as agreed.

That was when I got to know that tables truly turn around. The tables turned around and I drove very well that morning. My dad was so surprised that I already knew how to drive well so he asked me how I learned how to be a better driver. I told him everything and how my boyfriend enrolled me into a driving school.

Since then, they respected my driving skills because I learned from a professional. They called me a boss and I eventually taught my sister how to be a professional driver just like me.
If we are talking about the best drivers in the house, I always come second because my dad is a professional driver and drives better than me.
I love how the tables turned around.
