MAESTRANZA CÉSAR GIRÓN
Estaba en Maracay, capital del estado Aragua, y aproveché la ocasión de pasar por la Plaza de Toros, La Maestranza César Girón, ubicada en la Urbanización Calicanto, muy cerca del Museo Aeronáutico de Venezuela.
ENTRADA PRINCIPAL
De inmediato vinieron a mi mente los hermosos y gratos momentos vividos en este, ahora declarado Monumento Histórico Nacional desde 1994.
DETALLE DE LA ARQUITECTURA
Y no precisamente asistí a corridas de toros, que en lo particular no son de mi agrado, sino a los mejores conciertos de los años 80.

Fue la mejor época de mi vida académica, cursaba estudios de pregrado en el Pedagógico de Maracay y mi vida social se desarrollaba mayormente en esa ciudad, debido a los “estudios” jajaja.
Total, que surge en Venezuela una nueva onda musical, con artistas que hasta el día de hoy sus canciones son coreadas por muchos venezolanos y por otros en el exterior.
Allí, disfruté de las actuaciones de Yordano, Ilan Chester, Franco de Vita, Adrenalina Caribe, Frank Quintero, entre otros que hoy no recuerdo.
La primera vez que asistí, fue con mis amigas y compañeras de clases. Mi mamá nos llevó en su Volkswagen y nos fue a buscar. ¡Sencillamente maravilloso todo! Pues, luego fuimos a San Jacinto a comer arepas, ya que había amanecido y era el ritual impuesto: rumbeabas en Maracay y luego a San Jacinto a comer…Una manera de extender la rumba y descansar el cuerpo agotado de tanto baile y caña.
En una oportunidad, nos fuimos con un amigo que me “estaba echando los perros”. Todo lindo y chévere, pero una vez que arrancó la música a sonar y mis cantantes favoritos a derrochar su talento. El amigo quedó relegado… ¡Me gocé hasta donde más no se pudo mi concierto! Y él, pobrecito, me decía “Te la dedico”, bien cursi el asunto, por cierto, y yo ¡Ajá, gracias!

Este domingo le pregunté a quienes encontré que cómo se llamaba la plaza, y no supieron darme con seguridad el nombre, sino que todos dicen “La maestranza”.

Están las figuras del reconocido torero, perteneciente a una familia de grandes toreros, César Girón y un toro (no me pregunten el nombre). El lugar se encuentra muy hermoso, cuidado y se nota que la Alcaldía está pendiente de su mantenimiento. Estaba cerrada, así que no puedo dar detalles de cómo se encuentra por dentro. Al menos tiene un excelente frente.

La Maestranza César Girón o La Maestranza de Maracay, como también es conocida, es una obra realizada por el gran arquitecto Carlos Raúl Villanueva, quien con su creatividad y visión de mundo brindó un gran aporte a la modernización de Venezuela en los inicios del siglo XX.

It was the best time of my academic life, I was studying undergraduate studies at the Maracay Pedagogical School and my social life took place mostly in that city, due to “studies” hahaha.
In short, a new musical wave is emerging in Venezuela, with artists whose songs are sung by many Venezuelans and others abroad to this day.
There, I enjoyed the performances of Yordano, Ilan Chester, Franco de Vita, Adrenalina Caribe, Frank Quintero, among others that I don't remember today.
The first time I attended, it was with my friends and classmates. My mother took us in her Volkswagen and went to pick us up. Everything is simply wonderful! Well, then we went to San Jacinto to eat arepas, since it had dawned and it was the imposed ritual: you partyed in Maracay and then to San Jacinto to eat... A way to extend the rumba and rest the body exhausted from so much dancing and cane.
On one occasion, we went with a friend who “was giving me the runaround.” Everything was nice and cool, but once the music started playing and my favorite singers showed off their talent. The friend was relegated... I enjoyed my concert to the maximum extent possible! And he, poor thing, told me “I dedicate it to you”, very corny, by the way, and I Aha, thank you!
BULLThis Sunday I asked those I met what the name of the square was, and they couldn't give me the name for sure, but instead they all say “La maestranza”.

There are the figures of the renowned bullfighter, belonging to a family of great bullfighters, César Girón and a bull (don't ask me the name). The place is very beautiful, well-kept and it shows that the Mayor's Office is attentive to its maintenance. It was closed, so I can't give details of what it is like inside. At least it has an excellent front.
