RE: Three Tune Tuesday #188 .:. fast forward thru 60-s > 90-s > 2000-s

Hey great tunes!

I love me some Radiohead and read an article lately that Tom Yorke plan on just disappearing and fading into obscurity and living a simple life. Must be nice huh?

Tame Impala has some catchy tunes in an era that is pandering auto tune margarine and it is nice to see some neat new pop rock music.

Funny you pick Janis Joplin from way back when right when we are promoting a tribute act which is playing at a venue in our small town.

Great music for what hopefully will be a relaxing Sunday.

I am not keeping my eyes on the boys interviews anymore, since all went wrong (actually - after 2005!). Drummer ventured solidly into solo career, Lead singer and songwriter (Thom) lended soundproducer (Nigel Godrich) and compositor (Jonny Greenwood) and established already several solo projects ('Atoms for peace', recent 'The Smile'), Jonny Greenwood moved into orchestral works and composing, serious stuff like that; I often notice him attending BAFTA/OSCAR ceremonies holding another statuette. All this shit... we old fans may feel proud for the boys but I f^&)@$#*ng dont approve this direction and simply dont like it personally.... no, ofc its a natural course of events for a great band that has been together for 30+ years. No one is obliged to maintain creative longevity for 50 years and release each time a new album better than the previous one. And Radiohead have already done a lot to remain in musical history. I see it like this. F..k new releases and endless daily questions from new fans "When they release a new album?" -- DAMN LISTEN to the old ones, bastards! all is there!! 😎

Totally agreed on that one.

The Bends and all of those albums were works of art and absolute instant classics in my mind. The newer ones seemed so damn pretentious and half of the "tracks" should have been left on the cutting room floor in my opinion.

Anyhow, awesome impact on my life already made and have fun fading into obscurity where they have been for me over the last couple decades.

👍

well said! everything is digital now, lol. thus, this option is simply out of the options, LOL

Thanks a lot for your pleasurable comment, Zeke!

Yeah. It might be an exception to the mainstream trend.. I don't know. They are from Australia (from the ass of the world), maybe that helped them not to spot into a general trend)))) Either way, they are real, real stuff - not somebody's marketing project.

I am in the know that I should advertise Hive at Reddit, not vice versa 😉 but here is a good conversation concerning Tame Impala's best tracks. If you be intrested to have a look at other folks personal picks, heres the link.

Sweet, sweet coincidence!!!! It's always a pleasure to experience such coincidences around you, in your life. (Maybe it even does mean something... a sign that you are going in a right direction?..) It's really cool that this music will sound live in your city, that you may hear it from a hand's distance from the stage; this is exactly how music should sound and be perceived. Feel a bit envy 🙃 Lets share some !BEER and !PIZZA to celebrate it.

Well, one of the reasons for Hive is to connect us despite the thousands of miles and share experiences with the world! I may have to catch a slice of the Joplin tribute show for you.

Agree! this is one of the reasons for me to be here (cant afford myself travelling around the world and see places..)
