How can someone clean a pool?

The pool has a filter system that cleans the water. There is a special attachment that I connect to the filter and literally vacuum the bottom of the pool. It is mostly leaves and dirt that gets blown into the pool.
I do that about once a week.
The nice part is that I do it while I am in the pool.
