Hey Actifitters,
We had a great sunny weather yesterday, just around freezing temperature, which now that I'm fully in winter mode, feels like spring. The snow started melting, so we didn't change our walking routine, we just made it much longer. Once again, we started behind the front yard for a few sunny snowy shots.
As usual, it was just a warm up on our way to the bigger forest.
So many choices for one of my favorite photo settings: sun through the trees. That also creates beautiful shadows. I kept a few photos, if I'm not too lazy, I'll try a shadow hunters post.
While I was chasing good shots, Kaia went exploring and chased a few critters.
Before going all the way to the teepees, Kaia couldn't resist a little climbing. Funny girl!
She also tried to hide but she's not very good at it!
With the sun getting lower, the colors started to change, golden hour!
That's when we were on the forest side mostly in the shade though. It's even more rewarding when we find these beautiful openings.
Kaia knew we'd start on our way back soon, so she followed the sunset out of the forest.
Not before one last full speed run. Besides deer and squirrels, the best way to get her to run that fast is to hide while she's busy.
On the way back, I was hoping we'd catch a few glimpses of the sunset, but it was mostly behind the trees already. I really like these colors though.
So much that we decided to enjoy our espressos on the deck during the last minutes of daylight. Like I said, these low 30s F (~0C) temps almost feel like spring now and it was perfect without even a jacket. We stayed until full darkness.
With this active day in this perfect sun and snow combo, I'm back in the #poprzeczka competition. I didn't follow at all other results, but I'm hoping it's getting me close to a podium. But let's see if I can pass the bar a few more days.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
