Hey Actifitters,
The weather was really nice yesterday again, plenty of sun, but not uncomfortably hot and humid. So, it's no surprise Le Chat spent lots of time sleeping hidden in the weeds. She enjoys that, even if you wouldn't know it just looking at her face. She also like playing with Kaia, even when Kaia prefers to inspect the yard.
Activity wise, it was quite typical. We started with our daily walk in the afternoon, and a first stop behind the front yard.
Kaia looked everywhere if the deer were still there. But no luck there.
So we went to the forest. That's where the deer were!
Kaia had lots of fun chasing them. In the forest, I let her do that because I know there's virtually no chance she'll ever catch one.
With the cooler temperatures the past couple of days, the mosquitoes are much less annoying. So even if I knew I wanted to run after our walk, I couldn't resist spending more time in the forest.
We even walked the entire loop around the edge, with the sunset almost there.
And for good measures, we went back into the forest before walking back home. And we found a cute fawn there, with its mother not far behind (although I couldn't snap a photo of her).
One last picture of the sun through the leaves (like I mentioned many times I'm sure, that's one of my favorite settings).
I thought we were done with wildlife for the day. But just outside the forest, we first found this cat having fun in the trees. Clearly a house cat with that collar, but it was not close to any house. I hope it wasn't lost, just on its evening stroll.
And back at home, so many deer in the front yard again!
I put Kaia in the back yard, so she wouldn't bother them, while I went back for more pictures. She was of course on high alert, but she knows she's not allowed to jump the fence.
They let me get really close. Except for that female one. Can you see her front leg, she was stomping it, and hissing at me. Maybe it was the same one that hissed at us a few days ago.
All of that made me a little late, but I still had enough time for a good run. The cooler and drier air helps so much! I felt I could run faster and longer, and I did! About 6.5 miles at a better-than-expected pace. Still far from where I want to be, but encouraging.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
