When I looked out of my window this morning at about 8am, it was raining! 😕
I thought 🤔, um! I'll wait a while longer before venturing out for a ride.
The rain did stop, and temperatures were very mild at about 13°C. So off I went on an adventure to visit three lakes in three parks.
Today, there was a gusty wind blowing, and rain was a constant threat in the air. This was never a problem as I am well equipped for wet weather.
So, starting off towards Buchan Park, I performed a loop around the lake, then headed out towards Tilgate Park along some residential roads.
Due to the winding and damp weather, there were not many people around. A few dog walkers, some fishermen, but not a busy feeling at all!
Track conditions were good, but damp. I don't have mudguards on my bike, so I was quite filthy after todays ride. Who cares! 😀 It's part of the fun ! 🤣
Next stop Tlgate Park. Here, after circumnavigating the main lake , I stopped for a coffee and a bacon roll at the Lakeside Cafe.
A brief stop before cycling on to Goffs Park. This park also has a lake. A much smaller lake, and also closer to the town centre. There is a manor house associated with this park. Unfortunately, it is currently boarded up and on offer for renting. So sad, really!
A smallish park adjacent to town has much history associated with it. This park is used by the town for many community events, mainly in the summer months.
Today, I spotted a patch of daffodils in bloom. I think this is the earliest I have ever seen daffodils blooming. Not so long ago, these flowers were not seen until February! I am flabbergasted! It just shows how our weather has become milder over my lifetime. It's just incredible!
