Greetings to everyone in this last week of the year 2023, almost ready to welcome the New Year, I hope you are all having a happy holiday. And today I have returned to Hive Collectors Community, to bring the third and final part of my aunt Chichita's Christmas card collection. I thank @mipiano for having done this initiative. You can see the others parts of this collection in: Part 1 and Part 2
This last part of the cards was organized by mom in this small album, so that they were protected and would not be damaged.
We begin this collection with this beautiful Christmas card, whose central figure is a candle, with a bell and garlands on the left. This card has small sprinkles of glitter, which was a technique widely used in the 60s and 70s.
The next card is from the late 60's. It was given to my aunt by a local school. We can see a photo of a nativity scene, specifically the Baby Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph. It was a nice detail that some institutions had at the time, it was a typewritten card.
This card was also given to my aunt, by a local educational institution, although it is not dated, I assume it must also be from the late 60s. It is also a beautiful Nativity scene, with the Virgin, the Child, the mule, the ox, a shepherd boy and other animals. It is a beautiful card.
This cute and tender card shows us a little angel, praying to heaven, with the star of Bethlehem in the sky. This drawing is signed by an artist named Frankie, and was printed in Venezuela, as can be seen on the back, it is also from the year 1968.
The following card is a beautiful painting, showing the three Wise Men on their journey to meet Jesus. According to the information on the back of the card, it was made by an artist, William Mooney, who belongs to a guild of no-hands artists. This was what I talked about in my previous post, where I also included a card that was a reproduction of a painting made by a female artist who also had no hands. I think it's from the early 80's.
This folding card is from the early '90s, and is the type of card that you put next to a gift. We can see a snowy cabin, and inside are the Three Wise Men. It has a curious design.
This card is similar to the previous one, only the Three Wise Men are on the outside, and inside there is a beautiful Christmas message.
This is a beautiful old Christmas card. I presume that it is from the 1950s, and I deduce this because it is a card that was used as an advertising medium, because although it shows a beautiful Nativity scene, with a group of angels paying tribute to the Holy Family, and at the foot of the it is indicated that it is a gift from the Meyer Laboratory; On the back of this beautiful and curious card, it promotes a product called "Bioglobin" which I infer was a vitamin complex. It's a rare card.
Here I end my post today, the third and last of this Christmas series, full of personal memories, as well as full of reflections and echoes of the aesthetics of previous decades. Hugs and Happy Holidays!
