How do you usually get medals for your run?
You buy it for yourselves or all park runners contribute and give the winner the medal?

At parkrun (the event we do each Saturday) there are no medals. Though it is normal in paid races for there to be medals. They use part of the money we pay as entry fees to make medals to give us afterwards. Usually, the winners (or rather - first, second and third for both men and women) get additional prizes. Sometimes they get a trophy (like a bigger medal kind of thing) and/or some prize money, that has been saved from some of the entry fees from everyone who participates.
