Strange delicacies.
The topic of cooking and everything related to it has always interested me and sometimes I make discoveries for myself that surprise me a lot.
Yes, it could be a combination of some flavors, or I find out that instead of a weed, a plant grows in my garden that in the old days people successfully used in culinary arts.
Once, I learned that in Asian countries jellyfish are used as food, after that I thought that nothing could surprise me anymore lol, but I was wrong.
I love fishing, which means I have often been near a lake where various reeds grew in the water along the banks, namely bulrush and cattail.
Yes, I know that people use young shoots of reeds and their roots for medicinal purposes and for food, but what else I learned surprised me a lot.
I didn't know that the fluffy inflorescences of the reed Týpha or bulrush, which I treated as decoration, or as an object for photographs, but nothing more, for people living in countries closer to India, this is a sweet delicacy.
The fluff of these inflorescences is sifted through a sieve and as a result, a powder similar to pollen and flour is obtained, which is wrapped in gauze and steamed in a steamer, resulting in sweet buns.
I wonder what else can surprise me lol?
Below you can see my containers with data that I collect in INLEO and always have quick access to them it is very convenient.
Material thoughts about beekeeping №1
When I visited dense forests, I did not see ideal conditions for bees there, but many beekeepers harvest beekeeping products in such places.
