Interesting thoughts about NSFW content ! Personally, I don't have a problem with it at all, but it does come with it's issues.
It's becoming increasingly used as a stick by virtue-signalling politicians who use the old "it's to protect the children" lie to turn sites with NSFW content into data gathering centres they have absolute oversight and control over. Here in the UK, it looks like becoming the shoe in the door to the idea that you have to verify your identity when you go to a website; how long before ID verification when you go to sites with NSFW content is extended to social media and news sites ?
There's also the issue that legacy media would love to smear independent sites like Hive. Who remembers when OnlyFans was just a site used by artists, musicians and the like to promote work to their audiences ?
While Hive is one of the few sites that might resist direct control, and could be accessed via a VPN if it was banned in the way that Russian news channels are, after a few long prison terms are dished out most people will be too afraid to visit the few sites that resist government regulation.
Having said that, there's a certain amount of NSFW content on Hive, but most users so far have been honest and respectful enough to ensure it's properly tagged, and while some is out and out pornography, much of it is actually very artistic.
