Few years ago, the hinterlands of the kingdom of Kedus was known for producing fine red oil and allied products from the palm. This made their bays hot zones for merchants of oil.
The North side of the hinterland also has coal. Another mineral resources that attract miners. There are clusters of miners also located at the other northern part, although coal there aren't much.
The government usually control these resources and share proceeds to all the federating units. Most of the federating units feel bad about their own share of the proceeds. The other north that has more coal and red oil decided to rebel against the central government by taking mining the coal by themselves.
This later attitude of the other north led the government at the centre to clamp down on them severely by mobilizing and sending many troops of the military down there.
Many innocent lives and properties were lost in the melee. This in a general way also affected the output of red oil produced therefrom. It also led to arms struggle and proliferation as youths off the other north took to the trenches ostensibly to protect their God given natural resources.
