Indeed, I don't think someone can delegate for someone else. It would be kind of cool, though. π π π β¨ π€

If the #dustbunny bot would support that feature, then it would have difficulty keeping track of which delegation is for which other Hive account. π€ Maybe the Hive user should be allowed to send a Hive memo saying the exact amount or percentage of his or her Hive Power delegation to the dustbunny Hive account is for any given Hive user. π€

While I can see the potential confusion, it does sound like a useful feature. There are all sorts of potentially useful features which could be added to Hive over time. I think that we should be able to delegate, or loan, HBD in Savings. π π π β¨ π€

Some features on Hive were removed over time, such as the "reset account" (which existed before the Hive blockchain was forked from the previous blockchain) where any Hive account that didn't have any transaction for 6 months can be taken over by its reset account. π€ The reasons were legal and technical. π€―π

Oh bugger, that's a bit of a security red flag! I'm very glad about that option being removed, otherwise it could not be said that we truly own our assets. πππβ¨π€

The owner of any Hive account was free to choose which its reset account is (and can be set to @null to essentially disable it). π€ However, it would have been hard to define what "user-initiated transaction" is, because a user may have already lost his or her Hive account keys but autovoting dapps (such as #HiveVote) still work on the account. π€―π

Ah, OK, so it was similar to what is called a recovery account today. Ah, yes, indeed. There are people that have died, and yet their accounts are still voting every day, as a part of curation trails. π π π β¨ π€

A recovery account of a Hive account is useful only within 30 days of changing the owner key of the Hive account and the user of that account still has access to its private owner key. π€ The recovery account can initiate a change of owner key, no matter how many times the Hive account publishes transactions or changes its private keys. π

I was aware of most of that, but I didn't know that it had to be within 30 days. I have two accounts of my own, that are recovery accounts for each other. π π π β¨ π€
