I believe that the recovery account you choose for your Hive account(s) should be all of the following: π€
- not your own Hive account (because all the Hive accounts on your devices might be compromised at the same time)
- someone trustworthy (both in terms of character and technical skill)
- someone you can call on quickly when you need to recover your Hive account(s)

That's an ideal situation, and while all of those suggested points are very logical and certainly do make sense, I have nobody that would fit those parameters, so I do it myself, like I do with many, or even most things. π π π β¨ π€

I think that you should use the Hive account of the Hive frontend that you use the most (which is probably #Ecency) as your recovery account. π€π€

How would that work? How exactly would you get in touch with them to explain the situation, and to ask them to initiate a recovery? Discord, or tagging them in a post, maybe? π π π β¨ π€

There are several ways they can verify that it is indeed you who is requesting for Hive account recovery regardless of which platform you use to communicate with them (such as the IP address/es you use most often for accessing the #Ecency frontend). π€
