The bad thing is that there is little to tell about it, since it is something that a writer once said, that pleasant lives did not serve as inspiration for his novels. I don't want to be so extreme, but it's true that the monotony of having quiet days may not be a very good thing for writing impactful things. However, I love my quiet days (personal smile).

#Fortune cookies, or Luck Cookies, were introduced to me in my country through Chinese restaurants, but recently I learned that the recipe for the first cookies that contained papers with messages is actually a Japanese recipe, made in the 19th century. These cookies became popular on the North American East Coast, especially San Francisco. And these cookies were marketed quite well until the period of the world wars of the 20th century.

In the 20th century, the making of fortune cookies in North American territory became something more present in Chinese restaurants. And that is what led, in my country (with the arrival of the oil companies of the 20th century), to the introduction of these cookies with messages inside by Chinese restaurants.

Well, the original recipe was Japanese, the preparation is mainly associated with Chinese restaurants. So, one would expect the celebration to have an Asian origin… But, it is not like that.

Today's celebration is something that began with a North American initiative. Although it is true that it was due to the migrant population (and their descendants) who had roots in Asia. I guess the idea of ​​small common phrases (that play a little on the idea of ​​prophecies) that give such general advice that they can be used for any situation was something attractive.

Many people like to cast lots, and it is like the idea of ​​tossing a coin to decide something with a touch of chance. In this case, it is about obtaining a phrase or advice that, when interpreted by the person who reads it, can serve as inspiration for some action.

Este sábado, 20 de julio, he estado un poco ocupado con las cosas de casa. Pero en general ha sido un buen y tranquilo día. Del tipo de día que me gusta tener.

Me ocupé de lavar, cocinamos temprano, y arreglamos algunas cosas menores. Mi hermano está un poco mejor, y yo estoy bastante bien de salud, a decir verdad. Así que es un día agradable.

Las galletas de la #fortuna, o galletas de la #suerte, las conocí en mi país por los restaurantes chinos, pero hace poco es que me enteré de que en realidad la receta de las primeras galletas que contenían papeles con mensajes es una receta japonesa, elaborada en el siglo XIX. Estas galletas se popularizaron en la Costa Este Norteamericana, en especial San Francisco. Y estas galletas se comercializaron bastante bien hasta el periodo de las guerras mundiales del siglo XX.

En el siglo XX, la elaboración de las galletas de la suerte en territorio norteamericano pasó a ser una cosa más presente en restaurantes chinos. Y eso es lo que hizo que, en mi país (con la llegada de las empresas petroleras del siglo XX), tuviéramos la introducción de estas galletas con mensajes adentro de mano de los restaurantes chinos.

Bien, la receta original era japonesa, la elaboración es principalmente asociada con los restaurantes chinos. Entonces, uno esperaría que la celebración tuviera un origen asiático… Pero, no es así.

A mucha gente le gusta el echar suertes, y es como la idea de arrojar una moneda para decidir alguna cosa con un toque de azar. En este caso, se trata de obtener una frase o consejo que, al ser interpretado por quien lo lee, puede servir de inspiración para alguna acción.
