Corn dog-like white mushroom amidst the green grass!

Namaste!

This is my entry for #FungiFriday initiated by @ewkaw

This is the first time that I am not only posting on this community but also sharing pictures of such unique and beautiful fungi that I have shot with my phone camera.

Over the past few weeks, I have seen so many different types of mushrooms in this community that I got really excited to take pictures of them. At that time, my place was experiencing the worst heat in the last several decades, but now after the arrival of monsoon, when it rained continuously in the last few days, I saw many unique and beautiful mushrooms at many places in the park where I used to walk every evening.

To be honest, I love mushrooms but only buttons and oysters because these are the only two I have eaten so far. Apart from these, I had never paid that much attention to fungi, but ever since I have become fond of photography, unique and beautiful things attract me from anywhere. :)

As I said, I don't know much about mushrooms but looking at this it seems that it is very fresh and probably edible too. I am saying this because it is not skinny but it is thick like a button mushroom and in size, it is also a little bigger than that.

To date, I have seen either very small or flat saucer-shaped mushrooms in the open, which usually grow in wood but these mushrooms grow here in dry grass and garden soil also especially this one doesn't look like any wild or poisonous variety.

However, I am not recommending it for eating because I do not know how to identify edible mushrooms.

I found some mushrooms there in this broken condition, probably due to some reason they might have broken and fallen. But looking at their skin it seems that they too are fresh.

Frankly, I found this mushroom very cute, friendly and beautiful, and no one can take their eyes off this corn dog-like white mushroom amidst the green grass.

It is possible to find it in north India but not in the south. I never saw them in South India. I think they like cold. Next time research and confirm them. What I got here they are very tasty. Nice photos

Oh wow, Just read your blog, you have made an amazing dish of them too. :P After reading this, I went out for a walk this evening intending to pluck those mushrooms and bring them home, but unfortunately, they were no longer there. :( But this info will be useful for the next time! :)
I am from North India and it is hotter here in summer than in the South, but the temperature also becomes much lower during monsoon and winter. These mushrooms have appeared here after 5-6 days of continuous rain when the temperature dropped from 50 to 27 degrees Celsius. Thank you for sharing this information about these mushrooms! 😊🙏

But be careful not to pick them when they are old. Here it is called matblekksopp and it will appear in October. mostly grows on plane grass. :)
