Past Couple of Weeks

A busy couple of weeks for sure. Going through one of my most time-intensive blocks at work, including a 7 day stretch of 12+ hour days. On top of this, still trying to help out my Mom as best as I can, although I haven't done it much this past week. The additional travel time (1 hour each way) adds up quite a bit... that's 28 hours of travel on top of the 84 at work, plus me doing little bits here and there to help. So, it's quite a lot, but hey... I'm in a better position to help than my Mom is. I certainly wouldn't prefer to be in her position, although I'd gladly take her pain and suffering if it were possible.

Mental health is getting closer to my baseline. Even my mood swings are quicker now, which is definitely a marker of improvement. Still have uncommon suicidal thoughts, but no intent now. Aside from a terrible sleep schedule, I am trying to take actions to improve my long-term health (exercise, healthy diet).

Still planning to resume those promised October rewards and contests this week. @mviews come on man, finish those nominations so we can keep our integrity! You're posting your own articles, so you can finish these little jobs. 😉

I think the strength comes not from disallowing those thoughts, but rather overpowering them with my will. Thoughts may come and pass, but choosing whether or not to act upon them takes a bit of mettle.

Meditation should help those thoughts pass through quicker. It's something I keep telling myself to begin. I have to promise myself to begin on Tuesday (only because if I do it on Monday, I'll fall asleep lol).
