Exploring the future of a forest near villa - January 3, 2025

in Visual Shots3 days ago

I was bored today and I walked to my usual morning jogging spot when I was a kid (around 15-20 years ago). It used to be a dense forest. This paved road was still a dirt road and I jogged with my grandmother and my late grandfather. They loved to jog on this road and brought me here. This road has become a paved road. Cars can now reach here safely. Good to see they don't change something to the beautiful mini waterfall there. There's a small lake. I need to walk on a log bridge to get to the place.

Walking further into the supposedly forest. The trees have fallen, all I can see are bushes, debris from fireworks 2 days ago, and farm plots. The picture below was taken at what seems to be a beautiful spot to see many shame plants or mimosa pudica (scientific name) around. All of them have fallen now 😭. Well, it doesn't make money, but it's beautiful to jog there and you won't get lost as long as you follow the path made of human footprints (stepped grass). Farmers and some civilians walk through there before.

More houses are visible on the hill. If you zoom in on the image, you can see tiny trees planted there in the brown areas. I think something happened before... I don't know if it's still area in Green Apple management or not. I never go to the hills because I don't know how to walk there except go through the wild areas without road.

On google maps, it's called Gunung Kasur. Honestly, I don't think it's a mountain. It looks like a big mound without a peak. I saw a road leading to the post. I had to go out and turn around to reach the post. They really need to make this place as beautiful as before. I wish I had a camera when it was still a dense forest to share it with the readers. I just hope all forests won't be extinct like this 😭.

They did something in 2015 because I saw a fallen tree there and paved road. Although it was not well managed. We could see grass in the middle.

Things got worse in 2021 when everything was cleared. Even the bushes were gone... Well, I think they just cleared it and didn't manage it anymore because I can't see any paved road today... Just grass like in 2015 but more than that to cover the road. Nature will be green again if no one disturbs it anymore. At least, they shouldn't throw the trash here 😠. Clearing trash is better than clearing the grass. I can't see any dragonflies around like before, only flies.

I hope everyone will love nature more and something like this won't happen on other areas. Have a nice day~

It always saddens me deeply when I see that sort of destruction of important ecosystems, especially in areas like that where the biodiversity is so high. It's a similar story in many tropical countries along the equator. I could tell you how many species are lost every day because of it, and it would like horrify you. Nature always returns and recovers, as long as it's simply left alone, as you mentioned. By the way, Mimosa pudica - sensitive plant, is very common here too. It's originally from Central and South America. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
