This Festival is called EKPE, and it is the most popular festival for the people of ikwueke community.
Ikwueke communities compress of Ahuwa, Umuigu, umuezeukwu and Ntalaukwu community.
This EKPE ikwueke FESTIVAL is more than 156 years.

EKPE FESTIVAL is performed in every January, it attracts people from different works of life, communities, countries, ethnic groups, states, villages and clans.

During the festival, they parade through the streets, showcasing their mesmerizing dance moves and captivating the audience with their presence.
The year own festival attract alot of great people from all over the world to witness the EKPE Ikwueke FESTIVAL which started later because of the peculiar nature of the community.

One of the most significant moments of the Ekpe Festival occurs when the Ekpe beheads a goat with a single strike.
On the day of the Ekpe Festival, the entire village that compress of Ahuwa, Umuigu, umuezeukwu, and Ntalaukwu comes alive with excitement. Villagers dress in colorful traditional attire, tying george wrappers around their waists, and gather together to sing and dance to various songs.

The Ekpe festival also holds a deeper significance.
It serves as a catalyst for individuals to reconnect with their cultural heritage and gain a deeper understanding of their community's values, traditions, and history.

The ikwueke Ekpe Festival usually takes longer hours before conclusion of the whole process, sometimes like 12 to 14 hours during the day. After successfully cutting the head of the goat, the Ekpe will now go from one popular individual in the village to another community which compress from Ahuwa to Umuigu to Ntalaukwu then back to umuezeukwu for the final session.
