Thankfully, it's FriYAY 🎉 It's the last weekend before Christmas, so I can imagine a lot of office folks having their Christmas party. We've never had one at my work. That's fine by me, as I'm not really fond of them. 😆 My daughter attended a few fun ones when she was working at the bank. I even got to join her a few times (not at the party itself but at the venue where it was held). Those were fun bonding moments. 😍

I personally do not enjoy going out much during this season. The traffic is horrible, and one wastes a lot of time in transit. It's no fun at all. That's one reason why my assistant Jenny dropped in this afternoon. She was in the area and asked me if I wanted to purchase anything.

Here I was thinking and planning to head down to a nearby liquor store to buy myself some red wine. I don't want to do more online purchases at this time. Deliveries mostly get delayed during the season. 😒 Lo and behold, I have this to enjoy for the holidays. 😅 Well, Jenny stayed for a while to rest a bit before heading for home. She did mention the terrible traffic. It took her three hours to travel earlier. She had to settle some dues at the Manila City Hall.

I finally remembered to take a photo of my mushroom truffle pasta dinner. It was so yummy. 😋 Yup, definitely worth the purchase. Now I enjoy ready made pasta sauces. 😂

11 days and counting... 😯 After almost a full day of using mobile data to connect to the Internet for work, my connection was restored in the nick of time when I was about to print out receipts. 🙏❤️💡 I'm so thankful for good tech service. I'm glad I switched to this new provider more than a year ago now.

I actively work on these affiliate sites daily. Glad I received a little more credits this week on LL (for promoting my LL coop link). My next target is to get to $4.

It's time to wrap things up for the day. 🙌 My day off is coming in a few more hours. 🤣 I've completed six nights of Simbang Gabi. Three more to go and then Christmas eve. Oh boy! Have a fantastic weekend! Nighty night from Manila. Ta-tah! 👋

Dark Chocolate and Type 2 DM

People who consume dark chocolate, not milk chocolate, at least 5 servings per week are at a 21% lower risk of developing type 2 DM! A study by Harvard researchers recently published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) revealed this. The study result is the summation of three studies: the Nurses’ Health Studies I and II and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study.

The study period was 34 years, and there were a total of 192,000 US adults in those three studies. Of them, 112,000 participants consumed dark chocolate over time! At the end of the study, 19,000 participants developed type 2 DM. Out of 19,000 diabetics, only 5000 were from the dark chocolate-eating group!

Dark chocolate has many other health benefits, besides the protection against type 2 DM. However, to get the maximum health benefit, it must have at least 70% cocoa solids! The high levels of flavanols in dark chocolate do the magic!
