These past few days, the mornings have been unusually cold, with temperatures dipping into the low forties. Waking up at 3:30 a.m., as I usually do, has become even more of a challenge. That early, it’s all about getting ready for work—eating a quick breakfast, shaving, and dressing for the day ahead. It’s a routine I’ve fallen into, but the cold makes it harder to leave the warmth of my bed.
Florida is known for its heat and humidity, which is why these chilly mornings feel especially jarring. Stepping outside to be greeted by biting winds is not how I prefer to start my day. Even though I grew up in colder climates up north, I’d still rather stay bundled up. But, as they say, no pain, no gain—and in this case, it's for the paycheck.
