RE: Value Plan Bridge Proposal

in #valueplan3 months ago

The Rio conference which has cost the Hive Community 21,917.50 HBD in June and more in July is being run by @arlettemsalase who has an account value of $43 dollars (excluding the 200HBD just transferred to her by Valueplan). Do you think that given this much funding to someone who has very little invested in the Hive Blockchain a good idea?? Or is it a matter of she was the only one around to do it?
The rally car driver @ssekulji has been funded over 530,000 Hive and 18,000 HBD YTD. This amounts to north of $190,000 in 2024 alone. The user has an account value of $271. Do you think giving this much funding to users who are not that invested in the platform is the right thing to do?? Maybe a limit of people who have less than 10,000 Hive staked could be a policy put in place? 10 out of the 18 accounts paid out by Valueplan in June had under $500 in their account value. I know you say you prefer paying into cold wallets. That being said the owners of these cold wallets do not have that much HP in their own user account either. @king13wallet and @king13 being one example. Everything could be legit. I am not saying they are not. But the optics look appalling here for everybody involved.

I don't think that is about how much hive power you got but about the history of what individuals doing, we see everything being posted if someone got fair record and reputation then it doesn't matter - our time, skills is money and we don't need to keep it in the system to proof it, sometimes we need to eat, feed our families.

We know historically that not all large stakeholders have the best interest of the chain at heart and that small stakeholders are more often than not the backbone of the chain. We know this because we wouldn't be here right now if that wasn't the case.

The funds issued to wallets are processed by them, they're not kept by or given to the individuals. The person simply takes the money and converts it into whatever currency that the vendor requires. Often we try to give conferences their own accounts, sometimes its not possible. The people themselves don't keep anything. They don't receive a 'management fee' or any other amount. They simply help make a payment possible.
