The Kookaburras here are confident, I think it's because the neighbours actually feed them. We don't, as there are more than enough bugs and insects around to keep them busy and fed. They almost feel like pets or part of the family. We don't see them much in the middle of the day, but we definitely hear them laughing at dawn and dusk.
We have been hearing a lot of machinery, too, as the council has contractors clearing and extending the fire break between the houses and the nature reserve.
It was great to see they left most of the gum trees and just cleared and mulched the scrub. It's great to see some of my property rates money actually being spent in our area.
There were quite a few new mushrooms with the rain over the past few days and a lot of regrowth from the controlled burn off a couple of months ago. Fitness wise, it was a busy activity count with my morning bike and run, a big day of work on the roof, and an evening stroll.
