When I saw this boat for the first time, I couldn't believe my eyes. First, was what I was seeing real - such an old facility, so weathered, so dilapidated. Imagine what that boat saw, what waters it sailed through, what it experienced...
Second, it still stands on the water, above the water. Still holding, no breakouts, not surrendered. Yes, that is it, here I come to the heart of the matter - this boat has not given up. That is why its appearance is so amazing, surprising and unexpected. I'm sure a man of its age and experience would have given up long ago, probably half its age.
Because that's how we humans are, we give up easily. But not the boat. It does not give in to suggestions, to stupid discouragements - you are old, you can't, you are weak, you must rest... Well, maybe it is already resting. But above water, you know what that means, not dumped and died somewhere on the shore and in someone's scrap yard.
Now look at this picture and think again what this boat has been through... What would you say?

Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
