Looking at the results from the election yesterday, it's becoming clear that one party swept the nation. I'm sure there'll be lots of issues still to come, but the people of state after state after state has made their voices heard.
In my little door-knocking neighborhoods, things are looking good for my boy Ron.
I've been knocking on doors in these areas since April and the final week was looking very encouraging. Last Friday was my last walking day (I didn't know that at the time) as Monday and Tuesday we were called off the turf.
Yesterday, the people cast their ballots and tonight the absentee and early voting were added in.
These are not the final numbers, but Ron Robinson has a decisive lead over the incumbent Nate Shannon. While Nate had almost 2x absentee ballots, when it came to in-person voting, Ron swept the floor. Especially EARLY voting, which is what I was encouraging people to do.
I'll never know what impact all the effort to "get out the vote" actually had, but after hundreds of hours of effort, I would hope it played at least a small role in this election.
By replacing the Democrat Nate Shannon with Republican Ron Robinson, the Michigan house will remain majority "team red".
