Another camouflage creature - another master of disguise.
(You know, I'm pretty interested in that matter.)
Well, here it is not about changing skin coloration like in chameleons (but I have seen even such spiders this summer!)
It's only about blending in the surrounding environment. I suppose, by choosing the proper colors to merge with them.
From an early age.
The katydid nymphs probably know from a very early age that they should blend.
They know how to do it and they are doing it.
Very successfully.
And I'm getting to the point again where I envy nature's creatures for coming to this earth with the knowledge of what to do. Only we humans do not know this. And it is because the life we lead is absolutely unnatural, don't you think? If everything was natural, we would know everything about life and not make any mistakes. The knowledge would come from ourselves. Because it is embedded within us.
However, we can't use it now. All the knowledge we possess is unnecessary in today's conditions and rules of life.
