Good Morning Hive friends! It's Friday, friends, and that means it’s #NinetiesFriday!
Whatever you find yourself wanting to post about is all good! It just has to be Nineties! I’m thinking my posts will be mostly Nineties music talk or album reviews but also movies or TV talk or reviews. Basically no rules, just gotta be Nineties!
And use the tag #NinetiesFriday
I’m hoping this builds into something similar to ThreeTuneTuesday where we have many people involved! But I gotta start with myself so here we go! Similar to TTT, I will give a basic Income Unit to a post every week. If it’s just me and one other person to start, they’ll get it. Eventually I hope more will get involved and we can grow it.
It’s probably just gonna be me this week, but you gotta start somewhere!
Some ideas are music, movies, television, sports, or really anything Nineties related. I assume movie or tv or music topic reviews or talk will be most common, but you could also talk a sports memory or something else. Think the Pop Culture of the times, but it would be great to hear about little known and interesting bands or entertainment items. Don’t forget to use tag #NinetiesFriday
4/26/24 NinetiesFriday! 🎙️ This Weeks NinetiesFriday It’s Music Based! Talking 10 songs I Think Should Of Had More Mainstream Success 🎸
I’ll be talking some nineties bands/songs below but First off! Thanks to our surprise #NinetiesFriday authors last week!
I wasn’t expecting anyone to jump in last week and was promoting for this week but we had two awesome authors! @dfinney & @thebighigg
Check out there posts below along with the BasicIncome giveaway I’ll be doing every Friday!

I said I would reward the first five people to post using #NinetiesFriday tag so the next three will be sent some! But also I’ll pick one post a week to reward the author going forward regularly!
This week I will be talking about five bands/songs (plus bonus picks later) that I think should have been hits commercially but instead are little known. For various reasons all different these catchy tunes never got the mainstream play they deserved. I discuss below!
YouTube edited out a minute due to a copyrighted claim, feel free to listen on 3Speak instead 👍⬇️
I’m including YouTube link just in case 3Speak is glitching.
Seems 3Speak is working well! 😃
First up it’s the band “Spring Heeled Jack” and there song “Jolene” from the 1998 album “Songs from Suburbia”
Then second up it’s the band “No Use For A Name” and the song “Soulmate” from the 1995 album “Leche Con Carne”
Third up it’s the band “Millencollin” from good ole Sweden & there song “No Cigar” from the 2000 released record “Pennybridge Pioneers”
Or from the same album the song "Penguins And Polar Bears"
Fourth up it’s the band MxPx who frankly got screwed by there label 3 times! It’s the worst luck ever as I discuss above. I’ll share two tracks, “ I’m Ok You’re Ok” from there 1998 release
Along with 2000 release “My Life Story
Last up it’s the band “Saves The Day” and two songs from the 1999 release “Through Being Cool” check out the songs “Shoulder To The Wheel” & “Holly Hox, Forget Me Nots”
A mix of reasons why these bands didn’t get there 15 minutes of fame. No Use For A Name it was definitely the record label. MxPx same, sometimes it can happen even with label support so who knows. But I could hear these songs being at least one hit wonders if things went a little different.
I’m going to add a couple (ended up doing 5 more) bonus picks below for you music freaks who can’t get enough!
