A couple of weeks ago, the hive-engine team announced the implementation of linking hive-engine to the Solana blockchain. This has several implication for hive. First of all, there is now a wrapped version of Solana on hive, called swap.sol. The second is that you can withdraw and deposit Solana from and to hive-engine. Thereby opening the whole Solana ecosystem to hive users and at the same time opening the hive ecosystem to Solana users.
Liquidity thanks to Solana diesel pool
Having such a bridge has only a meaning if the new wrapped token has some liquidity so that it can be traded. There is the market swap.hive – swap.solana on hive-engine that brings the minimum viable solution for the token. In addition to that, the hive-engine team have established three diesel pools where swap.sol is paired with swap.hive, Bee or SPS.
In total more than 50'000 $ worth of tokens are providing liquidity to these different pools which is a great start.
Linking to several other blockchains thanks to wormhole
Another great thing that made this implementation of Solana possible is that now hive users can reach also other blockchains like Sui, Base or ARB. Solana is linked to these blockchains through wormhole and you can quite easily transfer tokens to and from these blockchains to solana and in a second step to hive.
Very positive for hive
I believe that there is nothing better for hive than to be linked to other blockchains. The more of such links exist, the better for all of us and also for the different apps working on hive. Let's say you want to promote a game on hive, you can now offer a path to all the users on Sui, Base, ARB and of course Solana to come to hive. On the other hand, hive users can now also link their activity on hive with these different ecosystems.
