It my pleasure to share with you guys what I do for a living aside from hive.
My life depends on vegetables hence life as a young farmer is not a joke. It has never been dull to wake up and go to bed with the indication that every single day brings with it the feeling of the earth in ones hand from sowing seeds to reaping the products of agriculture. Since I come from a family of farmers it picked an interest in farming at a tender age and therefore made it my career path.
I wake up early in the morning, in fact before anyone can say the first light has graced the horizon. I prefer checking on the crops early morning especially during sunrise since the environment is very calm hence the crops are usually healthy and well-watered. For each plant, I check and manage them all and give them the attention that they need. It is probably the most tedious activity but to me it is a way of life because I do it with passion.
Springtime is always very interesting especially for the farmers who prepare the seeds to be planted in the farms. When choosing my seeds, I make sure that I have a number of vegetables that will grow well in my soil and my climate back at the farm. From healthy potatoes to cheering tomatoes or crisp lettuce, every crop has a message for a farmer of a bumper harvest. Even with every seed that prepares to plant, I always wake up with hope and expectation of the day to come.
They are tiring and really hectic, even in a very hot day, but the reward to see the first shoots sprouting from the ground is really worth it. I provide my plants with every care and give them all that they need so that they can grow right and healthy. From identification of weeds, removal of the weeds to even watering the plants and even protecting the plants from pests, every aspect counts for harvest.
When it is harvesting time I am proud to pick the fruits I have grown on the farm. The freshness of my vegetables, the different colors with that sweet smell of fresh produce is something that makes me really happy or smile. I find it very satisfying being able to sell my vegetables at the market providing food to my fellow people.
This is why farming is not only a career for me, but also a lifestyle. To be a good farmer, one has to be in touch with the land, know that your work is paying off as you prepare tasty meals for the family these are what makes me be a better farmer. I'm proud to be a farmer and trust me agriculture is very lucrative.
