It is said that there is no dearth of artists in India nor is there any dearth of Indian art. It seems that the art was first inaugurated from India. I have just come to Aurangabad for a stay. My plan is to see the Ajanta-Ellora caves of Aurangabad and understand the facts about them which are still a mystery. Well, I came to the market today and my eyes fell on these beautiful clay idols. It looks like plastic but its special thing is that it is made from clay.
- The idol of Shri Ganeshji, son of Lord Shiva, is made of clay. It has been polished in red colour, that is why it appears to be glowing under red light.
- Shivaji Maharaj's name is quite famous among the brave and powerful rulers of history. These Indian youth learn how to fight from Shivaji and are greatly inspired by his tactics.
Gautam Buddha was the founder of Buddhism. People mostly believe in him in Nepal and China. Buddhism is a religion which was formed in India but most of its followers live in China.
The idols of Ganesha and Gautam Buddha are made from Araspahan stone. This statue has been given shape by carving on the stone of Araspahan. It looks like a plastic statue but this statue would easily weigh 3-4 kg.
Pearl work designs are very old in India. Jaggery water or a mixture of jaggery and water is applied on the pearl and by sticking it on any vessel, the beauty of that vessel can be enhanced. So in this way art in India is very old. Be it craftsmanship, dance art, theater art or sculpture. India has been at the top in all arts since many years. Hope you liked the photos of these statues.
