The work of a pastor is a noble one. He is a leader. He is a spiritual leader who believes in his religious affiliation. As a leader, he gives his followers the principles of living according to the dictates of that religion. He is a teacher who teaches those who follow his beliefs. As a teacher, he is vested with the knowledge of his religious beliefs. He teaches them the doctrines and religious practices of his belief. He is a shepherd who is saddled with the responsibility of feeding and nurturing his sheep. The sheep are his followers. He feeds them with the spiritual food which is the word of God. The pastor is a watchman who watches over the flock of God in his care. He prays for them and makes physical contact regularly to check on how the sheep are faring.
I have been engaged in several fields of endeavors in attempts to make ends meet. I have been in the classroom teaching; I have ventured into farming; I have practiced art work and publishing.
Engaging myself in most of these activities improves my creativity and productive life. I grew up to become multi-talented because I have exposed myself to all these fields which have given me a broad range of professional expertise.
All of these are instrumental in running my economic life. To actually point out that this is what I do for a living could be deceptive because virtually everything I engage in supports my living and economic life. Money is the blood that gives life to our daily living. Without money, we won't say we have a means of livelihood. So, talking about what one does for a living is actually saying what one does to generate income.
My main trade is pastoral work. This is my official engagement and assignment. It is the backbone of financial life. Every other thing I engage with is just secondary. My pastoral assignment is what I officially do for a living. Other activities are supportive of this main source of income. I have the opportunity to answer to others because I still have spare time that offers me the privilege to try my hand out in other fields.
