Edita Iwa is what I wish to eat. #iucontest 14

in Indiaunitedlast month

The idea of favorite food could make us delve into some exceptional delicacies. Some of which might even be out of our reach for months. (That is not far-fetched owing to the present economic realities in many families.) The truth is that sometimes there are traditional delicacies which we have been used to when we were in the villages. The migration to cities where we established ourselves and build ourselves our desired lifestyle could pose a challenge where we long for some of our traditional taste and aromas but couldn't find them. So, in my response to this prompt from #iucontest, I want to discuss one of the food I have missed a lot because of my moving from my home town to another city.

This post is in response to the #iucontest of this week. The contest is here

Edita Iwa😊

Don't worry about trying to know what food that is. It is my native language. It is sliced cassava chips. Let me tell you how we prepare it.

It is prepared by cooking the cassava when it has been peeled and neatly washed. After the cassava has been cooked, it is sliced and then soaked in water between 2 to 3 days. Our edita iwa is ready.

It could be enjoyed with dried coconut, fried groundnut, pear, or with well cooked fish stew. These are the delicacies I was exposed to in my growing days.

The popularity of some locally made food delicacies are not that renowned. But the advantages that most of them offer to our body are tremendous. I have come to understand that most of the food items we don't treat as important are actually very good for our health and enhances proper performance of our body systems.

The edita iwa has been proven to have great advantage to our prostate. Many people are yet to know this. Cooking cassava and eating it helps in prostate health.

Now, the funny part of our nutritional stories is that what most of us cherish as delightful and favorite have calories that are not too good for our body. Some people are living with various diseases due to their diet.

So, I deviated a bit to discuss what I desire to eat, which is not always common in the city I now live in. Edita iwa or cooked cassava chips is a desired favorite to me now. Thank you for reading. I would love to learn about your own favorite food.
