Greetings friends, I am pleased to share again with you a publication about the pets I have in my yard, in this case my poultry. Recently a friend of mine showed me a breed of rooster that he had in his house, it is known as giro, although this is a cross with other species but it is still a rooster very similar to this breed.
I am not guided by the races at the time of having hens, but this rooster certainly seemed to me very pretty to breed him and to have in the future some hens of this race in the henhouse.

Saludos amigos, me es grato compartir de nuevo con ustedes una publicación acerca de las mascotas que tengo en mi patio, en este caso mis aves de corral. Hace poco un amigo me mostró una raza de gallo que tenía en su casa, se le conoce como giro, aunque este es un cruce con otras especies pero igual es un gallo muy parecido a esta raza.
No soy de guiarme por las razas a la hora de tener gallinas, pero este gallo ciertamente me parecía muy bonito para sacarle cría y tener a futuro algunas gallinas de esta raza en el gallinero.

The rooster's previous owner captured him very early in the morning, because at other times of the day, even at night, it is impossible to capture them, since at night they sleep in the high branches of the trees.
When he came home he was really scared, to the point that any movement I made scared him, even if it was just to make him cuddle on the crest.
El dueño anterior del gallo lo capturó muy temprano en la mañana, pues en otras horas del día, incluso la noche, es imposible capturarlos, pues de noche duermen en las ramas altas de los árboles.

He is obviously a young rooster, this can be evidenced by the small size of his spurs. When a rooster has small spurs like the ones you see in the photo, it is an indication of how young he is. So there is a long way to go for this rooster in the roost.
Es un gallo evidentemente joven, esto se puede evidenciar en el pequeño tamaño de sus espuelas. Cuando un gallo tiene espuelas pequeñas como las que ven en la foto, es un indicativo de lo joven que es. Así que le faltan un gran recorrido a este gallo en el gallinero.
So, I released this young rooster with the other hens, so that he could adapt to his new home. Evidently, the other roosters were locked up, to avoid possible fights in which a misfortune could happen. Because yes, roosters fight to the death.
Así pues, solté a este joven gallo junto a las otras gallinas, para que fuese adaptándose a su nuevo hogar. Evidentemente, los otros gallos estaban encerrados, para evitar posibles peleas en donde peda ocurrir una desgracia. Porque sí, los gallos pelean hasta morir.
Something that I found very curious about this rooster was his attitude towards other roosters even younger than him. He did not seem confrontational, he simply passed near them and did not do anything to them if they did not mess with him.
Otherwise, the other hens simply began to adapt to their new companion, who will be accompanying them for quite some time.
Algo que me pareció muy curioso de este gallo, fue su actitud hacia otros gallos aún más jóvenes que él. No se veía conflictivo, simplemente pasaba cerca de ellos y no les hacía nada si ellos no se metían con él.
De resto, las otras gallinas simplemente comenzaron a adaptarse a su nuevo compañero, el cual las estará acompañándolas por un buen tiempo.

Changing the subject, I have a couple of new nests in the pen, the hens have been busy filling the nests with new eggs from which I hope soon to get new offspring. In this space the hens were given the task of laying a lot of eggs, in total there are 14 eggs there, seven for each of the two nests.
Cambiando de tema, tengo un par de nidos nuevos en el corral, las gallinas han estado ocupadas llenando los nidos de nuevos huevos de los cuales espero pronto obtener nuevas crías. En este espacio las gallinas se dieron la tarea de poner muchos huevos, en total son 14 huevos que hay, siete para cada uno de los dos nidos.
I was waiting for the hens to decide when they would occupy their nests, but in the meantime, I managed to capture these moments when the chicks occasionally came to browse in the nests, as they are nice and comfortable for them to lie down and rest from the heat.
Estaba a la espera de que las gallinas decidieran cuando ocuparían sus nidos, pero mientras, logré capturar estos momentos en que los pollitos de vez en cuando llegaban a curiosear en los nidos, pues son agradables y cómodos para ellos echarse y descansar del calor.

Eventually, one of the hens decided to start hatching eggs, the first one was a white hen, so I had to put a piece of wood on her to prevent the chicks from disturbing her. You can see that wood in the photo above, in the background you can see the raised tail of the hen, but because of the piece of wood that protects it, the chicks do not come in to bother her.
Below you can see that finally another hen decided to lay in the second nest, ending up with two hens in two nests, with more than 15 eggs between the two nests.
Con el tiempo, una de las gallinas decidió comenzar a empollar los huevos, la primera fue una gallina blanca, por eso tuve que colocarle una madera para evitar que los pollitos la molestaran. Pueden ver esa madera en la foto de arriba, al fondo se ve la cola levantada de la gallina, pero a causa del trozo de madera que la protege, los pollitos no entran a molestarla.
A continuación pueden ver que finalmente otra gallina decidió echarse en el segundo nido, terminando con dos gallinas en dos nidos, con más de 15 huevos entre los dos nidos.
I had to use a piece of foil to cover them from the sun, because during the morning the sun hits them both directly, so to avoid any damage, I placed that piece of foil, which will protect them from the sun and also from the approaching rains.
Tuve que usar un trozo de lámina para cubrirlas del sol, pues durante la mañana el sol les da directamente a las dos, así que para evitarles algún daño, le coloqué ese trozo de lámina, que las protegerá del sol y también de las lluvias que se acercan.
