Do all cat parents agree that the resting hours of our michis are the most time-consuming during the day? Well, you don't have to worry too much about that, since it is a totally natural activity for them because they need many hours of sleep to gain or repair energy, since their hunting or playful instinct, while they are awake, asks them for a restful rest during the day.

Cats can sleep up to 15 hours a day, in intervals between feeding times and times for hunting, playing or simply being awake and aware of all the movements of their environment. Adult cats can sleep a little more than 15 hours, and all of them can sleep up to 20 hours during the day in winter time.

For them, we must always remember and keep in mind that we are the guests, and they are the owners of the house. They always freely select the most comfortable place to enjoy a pleasant rest, they explore all the spaces of the house until they find the one they like and there they roll or extend their little body.

I have three of them and each one has his special rituals before going to sleep. All three agree that "full belly, happy heart", and after eating, to sleep; also after grooming, but one of my three stuffed animals, Lupe, has a ritual a little intense for me, as he must suckle his little finger before sleeping (sometimes), and until he does not succeed he does not stop meowing over me. It can get so suffocating that I have to interrupt what I'm doing to attend to him.

The places? What can I say, as gentle as possible. I have in an unoccupied room, a bed that is not in use, and that's where Snoopy, my little dog, sleeps, but when he is in the garden, Jordie Snowy takes over. I also put an old pillow on the floor for them because the cold ceramic doesn't let them sleep comfortably.

My bed is a favorite spot, and they love to mess up the blankets and make a bojote out of them to lie on. They also enjoy being a unique little dot on the smooth sheet, and they look like porcelain figures, hahaha. The one that sucks little fingers took over the living room sofa, and even made a little hole in the cushions. And recently I had a quilt on top of some book boxes, pending to send it to be washed, and my surprise when I saw that it also became a little bed. They rarely use the dining room table to lie down, that happens if I'm in the kitchen and they want to be near me, and the only ones who do this are Lupe and Lucky, who share the space like good little brothers.

They usually choose the most comfortable and softest places for their rest, and there they can sleep for many hours until they feel the sound of their food pots when I move them.

También les coloco una almohada vieja en el piso porque el frío de la cerámica no los deja dormir cómodos.

Mi cama es el sitio favorito, y aman desordenar las cobijas y hacer un bojote con ellas para acostarse encima. También disfrutan ser un puntito único en la sábana lisa, y parecen unas figuras de porcelana, jajaja. El que mama dedito se apoderó del sofá de la sala, y hasta un hoyito hizo en los cojines. Y hace poco tenía un edredón sobre unas cajas de libros, pendiente de mandarlo a lavar, y mi sorpresa cuando vi que también se convirtió en camita. Pocas veces usan la mesa del comedor para acostarse, eso sucede si estoy en la cocina y quieren estar cerca de mí, y los únicos que hacen esto son Lupe y Lucky, que comparten el espacio arruchaditos como buenos hermanitos.

Ellos suelen escoger los lugares más cómodos y suaves para su descanso, y ahí pueden durar muchas horas dormidos hasta que sienten el sonido de sus potecitos de comida cuando los muevo.
