But let's talk about the color of their fur. I have two white kittens. One is pure white with a couple of black spots, and the other is completely white but rather a bit creamy. Let's talk about these two very special characters in my life, and their grooming.

In the case of Lupe, who is impeccably white, any unexpected dirt is more noticeable, and on these rainy days it used to happen that when the lights went out, I would open the patio door, and I don't know why he would go straight to the puddles to play. The result was that little piggy would come in, and even if he groomed himself, he couldn't get white again.

I had to put wire mesh on the bars of the doors and windows to open them when there is no light, and if it is raining. It also happened to me a few times that he escaped to the front of the house and got under the cars and got grease stains. For all those reasons, I had to bathe him without planning.

With Nevadito the case is different, he is recently rescued and adopted and when he came to me his fur was very damaged. I had to bathe him three times almost in a row in a month to remove little by little all the dirt he had, I was cutting his wool that was abundant and very tangled. Although his white is creamy, he is complete, he has no other color on his body, and any trace of dirt is detected immediately.

Little by little he has been learning to groom himself, not with the same dexterity as the others, but he does his best, and because he always stays inside on rainy days, he has not gotten dirtier than usual. Maybe a little because we carry him and pet him a lot, and he goes out in the yard and lays on the floor, but he is not extremely dirty like Lupe has become, hahaha.

How do I bathe my kitties?

Ok, with Lupe there is not so much of a problem because he has been used to bathing since he was a little boy, but with Nevadito who had never been bathed in his life, the task was a little more tedious.

First I prepared warm water in a plastic tub, and reserved some in a basin to rinse it at the end.
At the bottom of the tub I placed a rag so that it wouldn't slip off when I simergirlo.*
I wrapped a towel around my left arm, and wrapped a towel around my left arm.

He doesn't let me touch his ears, he gets upset, so I clean his inside little by little when I love him, but I have achieved quite a lot, because they were very dirty.

This is the eventual bathing ritual for these two white stuffed animals, because Lucky, the gray one, apart from running away when he sees water, is the one who grooms himself the best and looks very beautiful.

Como reza el manual de gatitos, el baño que podemos darle nosotros mismos con agua y champú, no es necesario constantemente, sino unas dos o tres veces al año.

Pero hablemos del color de su pelaje. Tengo dos gatitos blancos. Uno es blanco puro con un par de manchas negras, y el otro es completamente blanco pero más bien es un poco cremoso. Hablemos de estos dos personajes tan especiales en mi vida, y su aseo.

En el caso de Lupe, que tiene un blanco impecable, se le nota más cualquier sucio inesperado, y en estos días de lluvia solía pasar que cuando se iba la luz, yo abría la puerta del patio, y no sé por qué razón él se iba directo a los charquitos a jugar. El resultado era que entraba cochinito, y ni aun acicalándose él mismo, lograba quedar blanquito de nuevo.

Tuve que colocar tela metálica en las rejas de las puertas y ventanas para abrirlas cuando no hay luz, y si está lloviendo. También me pasó algunas veces que se me escapó hacia el frente de la casa y se metía por debajo de los carros y se manchaba de grasa. Por todas esas razones, tenía que bañarlo sin planificación.

Con Nevadito el caso es distinto, él es recién rescatado y adoptado y cuando llegó a mí tenía su pelito muy dañado. Tuve que bañarlo tres veces casi seguidas en un mes para ir poco a poco retirando todo el sucio que tenía, fui cortando su lana que era abundante y estaba muy enredada. Aunque su blanco es cremoso, es completo, no tiene otro color en su cuerpo, y cualquier rastro de sucio se le detecta de inmediato.

Poco a poco ha ido aprendiendo a acicalarse, no con la misma destreza de los otros, pero hace su mejor esfuerzo, y por permanecer siempre adentro en días lluviosos, no se me ha ensuciado más de lo normal. Quizás un poco porque lo cargamos y acariciamos mucho, y sale al patio y se acuesta en el piso, pero no es un sucio extremo como se ha puesto Lupe, jajaja.

¿Cómo baño a mis gatitos?

Ok, con Lupe no hay tanto problema porque ya él se acostumbró al baño desde chiquito, pero con Nevadito que jamás en su vida había recibido un baño, la tarea fue un poco más tediosa.

Primero preparé agua tibia en una bañera plástica, y reservé un poco en un tobo para enjuagarlo al final.
Al fondo de la bañera coloqué un trapo para que no se resbalara al sumergirlo.
Yo me envolví una toalla en mi brazo izquierdo, y me puse un guante de tela, para evitar que me rasguñara.
Con mi mano derecha fui echándole agua y enjabonándolo mientras lo sostenía con la izquierda.
Por último fui enjuagando su cuerpo con el agua tibia reservada, lo envolví en una toalla, y lo coloqué unos minutos en una cesta, bajo el sol.

Les cuento que fue tan relajante el baño para este angelito, que se quedó dormido. Esa primera vez retiré mucho sucio de su cuerpo y me permitió ver con más comodidad el estado de su piel, saber si tenía bichitos. Pude ir cortando los nudos, y desenredando el resto de su lana. No se deja tocar las orejitas, se molesta, así que voy limpiándole poco a poco su interior cuando lo enamoro, pero he logrado bastante, porque estaban muy sucias.

Así es el ritual eventual de bañito para estos dos peluches blancos, porque Lucky, el gris, aparte de que huye cuando ve el agua, es el que mejor se acicala y luce hermosísimo.
