The world is advancing everyday, the old way of doing things seem to be too slow for what the future has going on already. Because of this, it's important we try to keep up by learning new things and this is also needed in the working sector. The work sector in my country isn't a very good condition but it doesn't mean there aren't people who are keeping themselves up to date to keep their work earning for them.

As we get very deep into a world with artificial intelligence, building ourselves with soft skills could help us keep things still original even in the midst of artificial intelligence. One old saying I love and will always agree with is, "Don't work hard, work smart".

Are there people who are working hard and not working smart? I think there are so the need to create awareness that there are soft skills to keep one smart in his or her job.

One amazing thing about developing a soft skill, it works fine for any profession whether you're a doctor, a teacher, a company CEO or manager, a fashion designer, a business owner and a lot more professions we may be thinking of now. Soft skills fit in well and they help these profession seem more cooler and smart when they are applied.

Gone are the days where people should be working more than what they earn, it's important we gauge both side to be sure we're not working like elephants and earning like ants... As my elders here would put it. Imagine being good with your communication skills in your business or as a fashion designer. You get to keep customers and give your best into your work.

In a company setting, the soft skill of Problem solving, team and time management is one that has proven to foster growth in companies when applied. I've seen a few job vacancies giving these skills as some of their requirements to employ anyone into their companies. They've seen and understand the importance of these skills.

So the need to learn these skills as a person even before you start working in any sector, is important.

One more soft skill I find very good and useful for any kind of work or business is "Adaptability". For someone who have had to change work places or go stay at a new place, I find this as a really needed skill to adapt to wherever one find himself. This is even more particular to people who work remotely or have to visit new places to get their jobs done.

For me, I'm still learning and I'll continue to learn to master these skills as I approach the working stage. I'm totally for working smart than working hard, after all I'm not one who can do too much but I don't do too little. I just try to balance things and these soft skills will come in handy to achieve that if I apply them.

What about you? What soft skill are you exploring and which has proven to favour you in your work area?

This is my entry to the June Inleo Prompt Challenge with Day 17 focus on "What soft skills are important to ensuring success in the job market?". Don't know what to write on Hive today? You're invited to participate.
