Destiny's Child, also known as "the girls of destiny", was created by Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé, from a passage from the book of Isaiah. The group, which included Beyoncé and six other members, became one of the most successful girl bands in history, with permission from Diana Ross' Supremes and the Pointer Sisters. They modernized r&b and female pop with powerful voices, showcasing the contagious power of girls.

Destiny's Child, a group consisting of Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Beyoncé, has been a well-known group for over 15 years. Their last reunion was in March 2006 when they received a star at the Hollywood Film Festival. After 11 Billboard, Grammy and American Music Award nominations, the band peaked in May 2001 with their third and final major album, Survivor. The band then released a new album, Navidance, and a remix, Destiny Fulfilled, in November 2004. However, the band was in mourning, as all three members had already begun their solo careers. At a concert in Barcelona in June 2005 they announced their departure, Beyoncé being one of them. The group's success is attributed to their unique combination of musical styles and unique sound.

Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams' solo careers have been mediocre, at least not reaching Beyoncé's level. Rowland has collaborated with Mathew Knowles as an agent and has performed with David Guetta, Lil Wayne, and Busta Rhymes. Williams has participated in musical productions, theater, series, and television contests, and has released a line of household products. Her last disc is from 2014. Williams has had depressing episodes that motivate others to seek help. She has been committed to a Christian pastor for three years, focusing on religious music. In one of her most famous songs, Say Yes, Rowland and Beyoncé sing together. Their friendship is long and deep, with Beyoncé surprising them at SuperBowl in 2013 and repeating it at Coachella in 2018. Rowland retransmitted the birth of her last son, Noah, to her friends, demonstrating their unity.
