Greetings and good afternoon my dear friends of hive, and of this beautiful community of Rising Star. How are you all doing? I really hope you are very well. In my case I'm a little sick, but it's nothing serious, don't worry. It's just a little flu. But I'm not going to bore you telling you how I am, we come here to enjoy ourselves, right? Well, this time I'm back to share with you again my musical news and my opinions about them.
Besides that, today I bring you my card recommendation for today. As I'm sure you know, yesterday I didn't share them with you because I brought you a story about one of the cards. But today this section is back. So with that said we begin.

So friends we start with the music news as usual. In this case I want to talk to you about the song “Payphone” by the singer Maroon 5. This is a very nice song and it has been in the market for several years since it was released. The thing is that this song is turning 12 years and 6 months today. As you can see it is more than a decade already, which is quite a long time and yet the song is still very much listened to. As proof of this I can mention an example, youtube, there the views of the song go up by thousands daily.
That's new people listening to the song, so I think it's a proof that many people still like it and share it. In the case of my country this song can be easily heard in several things. For example in cabs it is usually played a lot, as well as in public transportation. In parties of 15 years and weddings I have also heard it. On national radio too. And that's because Spanish is spoken here and not English, which is the language of the song. People just like the rhythm, which by the way I like too.
But of course besides the rite I think many like the lyrics more. Well those who know English of course 😅 . Actually the song has something to say and it doesn't feel empty at this point. It's about the need to be able to communicate with someone who is no longer in our lives, maybe in the literal or even imaginary sense. It all depends on how it is interpreted. In my personal case I see it as a message dedicated to things that break, and how sometimes we stay in “what could have been” and we kind of regret those decisions, I don't know if you know what I mean.
In fact, in the lyrics themselves there's a line that strikes me about this. “If happily ever afters did exist (...) I think they used it as a satire or as a call to attention about the typical “and they lived happily ever after” that we usually see in stories and relationships in novels. This of course makes sense if we interpret the lyrics in the case of love and relationships. The song tells us to stop looking for those perfect endings that never come. I think it makes a lot of sense because in the end those stories where everything is rosy are a trap, and I think that is well reflected in this song. I say this because in this life there is no such thing as perfection in any aspect of life. You can interpret this lyric in many ways and apply it to many things.
You know to me the song makes me think or sometimes wonder, how many of us have not had a relationship/situation that left us like that, looking for answers or trying to talk/interact with a person/thing that has moved on? I'm sure more than one has happened to you, it has happened to me on several occasions, I sometimes struggle a lot with things and I always like everything to come together, so when something is left half finished or I couldn't complete the goal I feel very bad.
To not extend too much I think the main message is to let go, or let it go, or not to take so much struggle with things as in my case. Still it is true that sometimes we get stuck, looking back and clinging to an idea that at the time made us feel complete, but now, honestly, it doesn't make sense anymore. The song has that way of reminding us that no matter how much we call, there are things that are not coming back. It may sound strong, but it is what it is. In an ideal world, sure, that person would pick up, we'd figure everything out and move on. But, realistically, that doesn't always happen.
As I always say, this is my opinion and interpretation of the song, it doesn't have to be yours, I'm just sharing what I like the most about it. Now I think it only remains for you to enjoy it, that's why I'm going to leave the video below. You know if you want you can leave me in the comments your opinions about the song as you interpret it, so we can learn more about it together. Remember that after the video I leave you the song.
