In itself it was a curious thing that way of recording that video. In fact, until that moment I had never seen a video with that editing until that moment, for me it was very new. I remember that after that song that way of recording became popular in Spain and more people started to do it.

I know, until this moment I have not told you today's news. I just wanted to give you a little bit of context first. The truth is that it seems unbelievable because of everything that happened during those years. It was a difficult experience for all of us. Actually, I came to know this version in a very, let's say, casual way. It was in the middle of quarantine, like many. And you know how things are, from there... I loved the song. It was almost instantaneous.

The funny thing is that I didn't just listen to it on my headphones, I put it on the big speaker I have at home. And that's when something unexpected happened, it caught my mother's attention. You know that sometimes it is not easy to connect with the musical tastes of other generations, but this time I don't know, there was something in the lyrics, in the strength it transmitted, that she liked too. In fact, with time, the song became one of my mother's favorites too. There it was, playing over and over again at home. I say it even helped us. Yes, because the message is strong.

The lyrics are simple, but direct, something like “when I lose all the games, when I sleep with loneliness, when all the exits are closed... I will resist”. We identified with it. At the end of the day, life was like a constant game that we were losing, or so it seemed. Locked up, unable to see our friends, afraid of what could happen. I think the song came at the right time. And well, in terms of meaning, I think the song is still very relevant, even outside the context of confinement. In the end, it speaks of something as universal as endurance, not giving up in the face of difficulties. For that very reason, I think it is still just as powerful, even though the years have passed and we are no longer in that extreme situation.

Sometimes I wonder if it would play again with the same force if something similar happened in the future. I suppose it would. Maybe circumstances change, but we will always need songs like this one to remind us that, even if everything gets difficult, the important thing is to keep going, to resist.
