In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Also, I will include the statistics I collect daily from Rising Star to keep you informed.
After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Loco (Tu forma de ser): Los Autenticos Decadentes
No tan distintos: Sumo
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is No tan distintos of the argentine rock group Sumo. This is a very particular song, it comes from an Argentinean rock band, but you wouldn't be able to tell easily, since it's a song of the band in English. In fact, the first time I heard the song I thought it was from a group from abroad, then I found out where Luca Prodan came from and I ended up understanding how he could have such a good level of English. I know the rock band Sumo for their best known song “La rubia tarada” and for one of their many disputes with my favorite artist of the genre, Charly Garcia, where he criticized him for selling out to a clothing brand.
Luca Prodan, born in Rome in 1953, was an Italian-Scottish musician who left his mark on Argentine rock music. After overcoming a turbulent life marked by addictions, he arrived in Argentina in the 80's looking for a change. There he formed Sumo, fusing post-punk and reggae with lyrics in English and Spanish. With iconic songs such as “La Rubia Tarada”, the band became one of the most successful, until it disbanded due to the artist's death in 1987.
Before giving the winner of this night's drawing. The new format will be similar to the one we used some time ago, using the Hive Tools application. However, the application didn't always work, so this time we will be using a Discord bot that is in charge of returning a winner from among all the comments on a Hive post.
