Today the weather changed dramatically - it got significantly colder, from +20 yesterday to +12, the wind increased and it started to rain. Despite the cold, the shaggy clouds wake warm memories of my first day in Split where I came for HiveFest 2024.
This view greeted me on my first morning.
Before we departed from Ukraine, the forecast promised many cloudy and rainy days in Split. But the reality turned out to be much better, and only the first day after arrival was cloudy and rainy. But in fact, we would have been happy with any weather because it was so much better than what we have every day.
We were not the only ones who decided to enjoy the sea regardless of the weather, or rather in spite of it.
There were quite a lot of people at the Bacvice Beach.
The first walk to get to know the city better. Along the narrow streets that were built before the advent of motor vehicles. White stone houses with green shutters, neat and cozy courtyards with palm trees and bougainvillea.
Our trail brought us to the port and Riva Promenade. There were much less cars when I last was here 15 years ago. And everywhere there is construction, fencing, cranes... Human greed for money can distort any landscape.
But the sea is fascinating in any weather.
Palace of Diocletian, Bell tower of St. Doue Cathedral, People's Square Pjaca (Narodni trg). A mixture of ancient and medieval eras, every building here has an outstanding history.
Do you recognize this scene? This is Adam holding the apple and Eve.
Fish Market.
And Republic Square.👇
I took many pictures that day. 😄 You know how it is on the first day, when you are delighted with every detail. I think it's a good idea to split my photo walk around Split into 2 posts.😉
Thank you for swinging by, and see you soon!
Yours,
@zirochka
