Well, Madeira has a very specific climate and fertile volcanic soil, which makes it possible for the local farmers to grow everything from tropical and subtropical fruits to crops that we grow here in Central Europe so the markets are extremely rich, diverse and colorful ;)
Haha I hear you but no need to be afraid of this fish, it lives deep in the ocean. The poor thing is so used to and adapted to living in the depth that bringing it up to the surface actually kills it :( But in fact, barracudas look similar and they do occur near the beaches too :D I saw some big ones in the Caribbean and almost pooped my swim shorts :D
