Expressing oneself through self-portraits [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Since a couple of days ago I had the idea of wanting to take some self-portraits, it has been a complicated few days so I wanted to try to transform that into some photographs and it seemed to me that doing something conceptual was the best way, but I should mention that maybe I had never done it, so I had a rather ambiguous idea if we could say somehow and I tried to use some object I had, in this case was an old television that you can see how old it is and I decided to take the pictures in the living room of my house, taking advantage of some natural light coming through the window and the door.

Desde hace un par de días tenía la idea de querer hacerme algunos autorretratos, han sido unos días complicados por lo que quería intentar transformar eso en algunas fotografías y me parecía que hacer algo conceptual era la mejor manera, pero debo mencionar que quizás nunca lo había hecho, por lo que tuve una idea bastante ambigua si podríamos decirle de alguna manera e intenté utilizar algún objeto que tuviese, en este caso fue una antigua televisión que puede notarse lo vieja que es y decidí hace las fotos en la sala de mi casa, aprovechando un poco la luz natural que entraba por la ventana y la puerta.

Taking these pictures was a bit tedious, I don't have a tripod where to place the camera, so I had to use a chair and different objects to have the camera at a suitable height, besides making a manual focus using an object that would indicate me the right distance where I should position myself to have a good focus, but still having all this prepared was a constant trial and error test, but I must say that the result was better than I expected, although I must also say that many other photographs did not serve any purpose other than to try poses.

El hacer estas fotografías fue un poco tedioso, no tengo un trípode donde colocar la cámara, por lo que tuve que utilizar una silla y diferentes objetos para tener la cámara a una altura adecuada, además de hacer un enfoque manual utilizando un objeto que me indicara la distancia adecuada donde debía posicionarme para tener un buen enfoque, pero aun así teniendo todo esto preparado fue una constante prueba de ensayo y error, pero debo decir que el resultado estuvo mejor de lo que esperé, aunque también debo decir que muchas otras fotografías no sirvieron de nada más que probar poses.

For the editing of the photographs was not a complicated job, because from the beginning I was clear that I wanted to make use of complementary colors, in this case green and red, to generate a more striking contrast, so I used a suitable clothing to also blend with the background of the wall, but with a different tone to not merge and thus have a good cut. By using natural light I had to enhance this a bit, I will share two before and after pictures so you can appreciate the great change after processing.

Para la edición de las fotografías no fue un trabajo complicado, porque desde un principio tenía claro que quería hacer uso de los colores complementarios, en este caso el verde y el rojo, para generar así un contraste más llamativo, por lo que, utilicé una ropa adecuada para también mezclarme con el fondo de la pared, pero con un tono distinto para que no se fusionara y tener así un buen recorte. Al utilizar luz natural tuve que realzar un poco esto, de igual manera compartiré dos fotografías de antes y después para que puedan apreciar el gran cambio luego del procesado.

I feel more and more at ease as a model and more so when I'm the one taking the pictures myself, I love portraits and although it's complicated to take self-portraits, I still enjoy it when it's all done.
