A praying mantis on a rock [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, dear friends of the community and photography lovers, I hope you are all feeling great. Last weekend I was invited to a little trip to a park a bit far from where I live and they convinced me when they mentioned that there were interesting places to take pictures, so, I accepted the invitation, organized everything necessary and invited a friend of mine to be my model, you already know her, but soon I will be sharing her pictures here. Now, when I was taking pictures of my friend, another unexpected model appeared, a praying mantis and I definitely had to take pictures of her.

El fin de semana pasado me invitaron a un pequeño viaje a un parque un tanto alejado de donde vivo y me convencieron cuando me mencionaron que había sitios interesantes para hacer fotografías, por lo que, acepté la invitación, organicé todo lo necesario e invité a una amiga para que hiciera de modelo, ya la conocen, pero pronto estaré compartiendo sus fotos por aquí. Ahora bien, cuando estaba haciéndole fotos a mi amiga, apareció otra modelo inesperada, una mantis religiosa y definitivamente tenía que hacerle fotos.

I think there are few occasions in which I have seen some praying mantises in person, I even think I could count each one with my fingers, so I did not want to miss the moment to take pictures of them and honestly it was kind of funny, because, on the one hand, my friend was waiting for me to finish taking pictures of the mantis to continue taking pictures of her and I was very focused on the praying mantis. I also realized that mantises can be a bit aggressive. Every time I moved, she would turn in my direction and prepare herself in a certain way to be alert. This allowed me to capture some very interesting moments that I really enjoyed.

Creo que son pocas las ocasiones en que he visto algunas mantis religiosas en persona, incluso creo que podría contar cada una de ellas con mis dedos, por eso no quería dejar pasar el momento de hacerle fotos y honestamente fue algo gracioso, porque, por un lado, estaba mi amiga esperando a que yo terminara de hacerle fotos a la mantis para seguir haciéndole fotos a ella y yo estaba muy concentrado en la mantis religiosa. También me percaté que las mantis pueden ser un poco agresivas. Cada vez que yo me movía, ella giraba en mi dirección y se preparaba de cierta manera para estar alerta. Esto me permitió capturar unos momentos muy interesantes que me gustaron mucho.

Of course, I'm no insect expert, but I'm sure this is another type of praying mantis, as the ones I had seen before were always the green ones, but this one was camouflaged as if it were some dried leaves, which only makes me recognize how amazing nature can be. For these pictures I used the built in flash on my camera, as there was low light and I wanted to be able to capture the details of the praying mantis as best I could, as I most likely won't get a chance again so soon, so I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I did.

Por supuesto, no soy un experto en insectos, pero estoy seguro de que esta es otro tipo de mantis religiosa, ya que las que yo había visto antes siempre eran las verdes, pero esta estaba camuflada como si fuese unas hojas secas, lo cual solo me hace reconocer lo increíble que puede ser la naturaleza. Para estas fotografías utilicé el flash integrado de mi cámara, ya que había poca luz y quería poder captar los detalles de la mantis religiosa de la mejor manera que pudiera, ya que muy probablemente no tenga una oportunidad de nuevo tan pronto, por lo que espero que disfruten de estas fotografías tanto como yo.
