Yes, yes. We went out for a spot of Afternoon tea, on a warm spring day, and I have to say, it was pretty fancy... in fact, it almost felt too fancy for scum like me.
The view from the Glen View hotel/ grounds, is amazing.
Even sitting outside, and unable to see the vastness of the greenery, you know it's out there. In general, the elevation is also nice and the smell in the air itself is fresh.
First order of business. Booze. A pink gin and 7up for the lady, and a pint of Hein-o-mite for the tramp.
Not the best pint I've drank, but I can't complain too much. It was cold, and the staff were nice.
What wasn't nice was the price tag, €18.20 for the two drinks... yikes. Everything has gotten super expensive here, but I don't really like to dwell on it. Drink up, and shut up.
After our drinks we headed upstairs for our afternoon tea, and were seated by the window, which is great. Can't beat a good view.
I couldn't seem to take the picture without the slight reflection, no matter how many times I tried. This was the best attempt at it.
Aimee was bought these two tickets from my mum for her birthday last year, and we finally got a chance to use it. We picked a nice day too, which was great.
Fancy napkins are fancy.
There she is, enjoying her birthday gift.
We were having a good laugh the whole time, and the moment we arrived we were in good form.
The baby didn't come with us today, and was at home with his nan. Maybe next year we'll do it again, and bring him along to it.
I was actually fairly pleased today, because I put this shirt on - which I hadn't been able to wear for a while - and it fitted nicely!
I'm on the right track to shedding the weight, and while I still have a bit to go, I can notice the difference.
It was a nice confidence boost being able to actually wear my clothes again. The cause of loosing the weight is watching what I've been eating, walking everywhere, the new job which is all standing, and walking all day, and of course - the biggest reason - running around after the baby, and pushing the pram up the hills of my town.
The three tiers of food came out, and the presentation is amazing. I wanted to tear into it, but had to hold back and savior it.
Alcohol always gives me the munchies, but having a bit of self control, so we could relax and take our time was the best call.
We were so full by the end of our food, and everything tasted great.
Savoury, sweet, and a scone for after. That's the order we ate it in.
We also got bubbles, darling.
I prefer prosecco, or cava, but in fairness I don't have much prejudice when it comes to drinks.
Everything about the experience was great, and when we were finished we went back down to the bar for another drink before going home.
