I went out into the streets of the town again. This time I did so with my eyes sharper than usual. I have some days when I like to focus on the most elementary details of everything I observe when I go out there to take pictures...

The streets are full of surfaces which can go unnoticed as we walk around looking for more trivial things like a dog crossing the street, a person standing on the corner and so on. So these photos require flipping the switch to that area of our minds where we begin to perceive lights, textures and patterns of shapes more accurately and with a necessary sense of abstraction over and above the usual. The number of elements to be photographed is not a problem, in fact you can take many such pictures in a handful of metres (at least this is the case in my town's streets). But the real important factor for this type of photographic proposal is the ability to perceive it and differentiate it from its surroundings.

This is a diverse and complex photographic work by nature. I like to share these kinds of photographs because in a way (I think) they speak about me and my years of street photography. I look back on my early days doing this and I look at these photos. Then I conclude that 15 years ago I simply "didn't see" this kind of visual elements so present in the streets and excellent to photograph... Then it never ceases to amaze me how, nowadays, they are part of my usual "photographic portfolio"... It seems to me that this is an interesting way of my evolution as a street photographer.

Black & white versions
Yes, as always, here are the monochrome versions of these photos. Is impossible for me to avoid editing them this way also, I hope you like them too!

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... The shots are then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
