We love the ocean, so we visit the beach regularly. This allows me to take many shots of the ocean.
Today I want to share photos of some rocky scenes I have taken on various beaches at different times of day and in different weather conditions.
Rocky Bay.
Let's stop over at Rocky Bay first. Rocky Bay is located about 65 KM south of Durban in the Park Rynie area. It's a beautiful area and a popular holiday destination with various caravan-, camping sites, and various holiday resorts.
As the name indicates, it is a rocky area. Although the rocks are not always high, they still make for spectacular scenes when the waves break over them.
Enjoy the view of some beautiful waves coming in over the rocks...
Amanzimoti.
A Cloudy, Rainy Day.
Let's move up to Amanzimtoti now.
Amanzimtoti is another popular holiday destination, about 30 KM south of Durban CBD.
The first shots I want to share were taken on a cloudy day with some drizzling rain coming down at times. Whenever the rain gave me the opportunity, I got out to take some photos.
These rocks are south of the main beach in Amanzimtoti.
I loved the bright white foam on the surf as it washed over the wet, black rocks...
A spectacular wave breaks over the same rocks.
More white foam from the surf washes over the rocks and onto the beach...
On a Sunny Day.
The next two shots were taken at the same rock formation but on a sunny day.
A great opportunity to walk around on the wet rocks to explore a bit while the water has pulled back for a while...
Ballito
Next, we go up north to Ballito, a beautiful coastal town, almost 50 KM north of Durban.
Some good looking looking waves coming in over the rocks, rushing toward the beach. These photos were taken early in the morning, just after sunrise.
Catching the early morning sun on the rocks.
And again...an opportunity to capture the beautiful white foam from the surf covering the rocks here in Ballito too.
In my last two photos for today, you can see more waves coming in, partially breaking against the tidal pool right next to the rocks.
And that's all for today folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
