The Memorial Park in Kloof is very popular and known as a gathering place as it is one of the few open spaces where families can relax and/or where you can take your dog for a walk in safety.
The area, Kloof, is about 26 MK north-west of Durban on the east coast of South Africa. The word "kloof" is an Afrikaans word that means "gorge". This is exactly what the area is known for...the gorge, formed by the Molweni stream which runs through the area.
During a recent family outing, we spent an afternoon in the Memorial Park in Kloof.
I recently shared some photos of the park in two of my other posts as well. If you have missed them and you would like to see more photos of this park, you can find them here:
Two little streams run through the park and I took the opportunity to get some shots during the late afternoon.
Another shot of the same stream from a slightly different angle.
A beautiful scene, where the water is flowing over a rocky area...
Being late in the afternoon, there was no shortage of shadows falling over the water...and I got a few shots of the sunlight dancing on the water where it broke through the shadows.
Another opportunity for the sun to make its impression on the water just a little higher upstream.
There was also no shortage of beautiful, bright, welcoming colors along the stream's banks.
Let's take a closer look at one of these flowers.
My last photo for today shows a typical scene of various families on their picnic blankets with children playing around them. This particular shot was taken inside the play area for children with the little ones having a great time while their parents are keeping a watchful eye.
And that's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
